Fuchsia Confidence

Waving hello from over here to over there,

It’s been a rollercoaster of a week. In a slight communication mishap, I have bright fuchsia hair. Ever since I was swung around in the barber's chair, Queer Eye reveal style, I've had to decide if I was going to fall or fly.

I decided to fly. What else could I do?

After all, I did ask for a change. I did say, “Do whatever you want.”

I did agree to pink (even if I thought it would be pastel).

Afterwards, I wondered if I was sabotaging my success.

If this were the latest evidence of a midlife crisis.

I worried (again) about what other people would think.

Then I remembered that…

I believe we need CEOs who walk into boardrooms with bright fuchsia hair.

…and that I am, and have always been, a rule questioner.

I remembered that we need to rewrite the story of midlife in a way that celebrates all phases of our lives, where we've been and where we might go.

And, I remembered that all you ever need to do is put your shoulders back and your chest out to feel bravery in your body. The rest doesn't really matter.

So, here's to embracing all lifes changes, whether big or small, planned or a surprise.

Let's rewrite our stories in the best ways possible and show up with the confidence and authenticity that only we can bring.
