Many years ago, when I was struggling with a deep depression, I began to teach myself a new language. I learned how to find beauty, wonder and awe in my everyday. It saved my life and continues to!
I remember the first time I looked up at a bird flying across the big sky over the big sea near where I live. At that moment, I realized just how vast and impermanent this life really is.
It was one of those simple, life-changing moments. I finally understood, on a visceral level, what it meant to be alive, interconnected and part a world that is constantly changing.
I couldn’t hold on but I could be present.
